General Questions Q. Why should I choose SpyTrak over Lojack? A. Because the first 15 minutes are the most important!!
The SpyTrak system allows a user the ability to track the real time location within seconds on aerial map giving the user total control over their asset.
Lojack is a Radio Frequency system with a max range of 20 miles that requires solely on police to use and a police vehicle must to be equipped with the special Lojack receiver to even pick up the signal. In most cases only 2-5% of police vehicles are equipped with the special RF receiver in fact in many cases a Lojack equipped vehicle is recovered because of every day police work and not because of the system itself although that won’t stop the company from claiming they were responsible for the recovery.
When a vehicle is stolen and the owner files a stolen vehicle report the police in the area are notified of the stolen vehicles license plate and description. Now police will be looking for the vehicle. If a police vehicle that is equipped with the receiver comes within range of the Lojack equipped vehicle they will hear a beeping noise coming from the Lojack receiver much like a metal detector you see people using at the beach that beeps faster as the vehicle gets closer.
Imagine a police vehicle driving at high speeds trying to follow the beep from 15 miles away. You can picture the confused officer struggling to maneuver through traffic while trying to listen if the beep is getting faster as he makes a turns in a busy city.
The secret to the Lojack system is luck and it can very effective in helping enforcement randomly find chop shops or stumble upon stolen cars when they are not expecting it. Contrary to popular belief there is no map or way for an officer to zero in on your vehicle. GPS and RF is the difference between a Real Time Aerial Map Image of your vehicles current location, speed and heading to a beep up to 20 miles away.
The Lojack RF signal is rarely activated within 30 minutes from when the vehicle is stolen because in most cases you have to know your vehicle is stolen before you would call police and file a stolen vehicle report.
SpyTrak puts the control in the hands of the owner by providing the ability for a user to quickly and easily track their vehicle themselves from any online computer or internet enabled phone within seconds, even if it’s not stolen.
In case of theft, an owner can notify police of the real-time location and heading of a stolen vehicle within seconds. Having access to this vital information can mean the difference between a good scare and never seeing your property again.
When you’re talking about theft time is of the essence and the first 15 minutes are the most important as most vehicles can be stripped in less time than that.
In the time it takes to call police, file a report, wait for police to arrive on the scene 30 minutes could easily pass by and your vehicle could be long gone.
Remember, the Maximum range of Lojack radio frequency signal is 20 miles.
A vehicle traveling at 80 miles per hour can go 20 miles in 15 minutes. Meaning that if law enforcement does not arrive at the scene within 15 minutes it’s not likely your vehicle will be recovered because of the Lojack system but rather just a standard APB lookout for a stolen vehicle which is the same as if you never had a antitheft system installed!!!
Using Lojack you can expect to wait and the chance of law enforcement actually finding your vehicle is about the same as if you never had a tracking system installed at all. Lojack and other radio frequency tracking systems rely on a significant human effort to activate the device remotely and then locate which takes valuable time that. Vehicles are often stolen from very crowded events populated by thousands of vehicles and it is next to impossible to tell the stolen vehicle apart from the rest so having the motion detection and pin point accuracy of the SpyTrak system is essential if you want a speedy recovery.
Q. Will I have to pay any monthly payments to use my SpyTrak? A. No, any user that decides to only use SpyTrak for theft prevention can do so FREE of charge by calling the toll free hotline in case of theft and a current GPS location will be sent to the owner and or law enforcement.
